Jason Shortt, ACII, CIP has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, during which time he has worked for insurance and reinsurance companies in both London and Dublin, including over 12 years in senior claims management roles. Jason joined Cranmore in early 2014 and is responsible for the management of our Dublin-based operation.

Jason has extensive claims, transactional and ‘delegated authority’ audit experience, including experience of auditing all of the major classes of insurance and reinsurance business. In addition to having extensive experience in insurance and reinsurance claims handling and claims management, Jason has been involved in all stages of the arbitration, mediation, litigation and commutation processes, and he has managed many high-value disputes from inception to resolution. In addition to claims management and audit work, he has experience managing ceded reinsurance claims recoveries, credit control, technical processing and other 'back office' functions.

Job Summary

Jason spent the first 10 years of his career working in the London market, where he held reinsurance claims positions at Marsh, Willis and Zurich Financial Services. He moved to Ireland in 1999, where he spent four years as a direct personal injury claims handler for Allianz, after which he joined QBE Re, where he was responsible for the management of their reinsurance claims teams (including ‘live’ and run-off operations) in London and Dublin. From 2006 to 2014, Jason worked for Markel Global Reinsurance (formerly Alterra) where he was responsible for the management of the claims function of their Bermuda, Dublin, London (excluding Lloyd’s) and Latin American platforms. Jason joined Cranmore in early 2014.
