Audit & Technical Services Manager, Cranmore Asia Pacific
Max Fulton, BA, LLB, LLM (University of Sydney) and MBA (Monash University) has had a varied career, including as a lawyer in private practice, a legislative draftsperson, in-house lawyer and company secretary of various companies, including a start-up bank in London, as a senior financial services regulator (including overseeing the introduction of a new, international best practice, captive insurance act), as a claims manager and claims and underwriting auditor on behalf of the Company and Lloyd’s market, both with his own company and with major international audit firms (as Audit and Review Director for Asia and then Globally). Max has also conducted pre-acquisition due diligence reviews on a consultancy basis, as well as assisting insurance companies with their Own Risk & Solvency Assessments and with anti-money laundering and counter financing of terrorism compliance programs. In 2016/2017 Max worked on a project for the Australian Government putting in place an Enterprise Risk Management Framework for the Indonesian Directorate General of Taxation.
Max’s claims management experience includes complex professional indemnity claims, including medical malpractice and after Hurricane Katrina Max acted on behalf of Lloyd’s market reinsurers signing off on all claims settlements for those reinsurers. He has audited most classes of business and has conducted audits in Australia, Asia, USA and Europe. He has also been a non-executive director on bank funds and a life insurance company.
Max joined Cranmore Asia Pacific in the fourth quarter of 2020 as Audit and Technical Services Manager and is responsible for the provision of support services for companies underwriting in Australia and Asia, including claims, underwriting and risk & compliance audits and inspections.
